Solavita Leads KEY ENERGY: Smart Energy Storage Illuminates Rimini
On March 5, the highly anticipated KEY ENERGY exhibition opened grandly at the Rimini Exhibition Center in Italy. As one of Europe's most renowned renewable energy events, it brings together industry experts, corporate representatives, and decision-makers from around the world to discuss the latest trends in solar energy. As a global leader in smart energy solutions, Solavita showcased its innovative products, including inverters, energy storage batteries, and all-in-one storage systems, at booth D4-210, offering safer, more efficient, and smarter solar energy storage solutions tailored for the Italian market.
In recent years, Italy’s solar market has experienced rapid growth, becoming one of the key drivers of Europe's energy transition. As of 2024, the country’s cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity has surpassed 30 GW. The government is actively promoting the integration of solar and storage through tax incentives, subsidies, and streamlined grid connection processes, accelerating the adoption of photovoltaic and energy storage systems.
Key Policies Driving Solar & Storage Adoption in Italy:
Superbonus Tax Incentive: Launched in May 2020, the Superbonus policy allows homeowners to deduct costs related to installing residential solar PV systems and battery storage, with subsidies reaching up to 110%. However, the subsidy rate has been reduced to 70% in 2024 and will further decrease to 65% in 2025 before being phased out completely by the end of that year.
Investment in Agrivoltaics: By the end of 2023, the Italian government allocated over €1 billion from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to support solar installations on agricultural land, aiming to install at least 1.04 GW of capacity by June 30, 2026.
Renewable Energy Communities (REC) Development: In early 2024, the government passed a bill to allocate €2.2 billion to support renewable energy communities in towns with fewer than 5,000 residents, offering subsidies covering up to 40% of installation costs. Additionally, tax incentives have been introduced for nationwide renewable energy projects connected to the grid.
Large-Scale Energy Storage Projects: The Italian government plans to invest €17.7 billion in large-scale energy storage projects across the southern and island regions, with a total installed capacity of up to 9 GW/71 GWh.
With these favorable policies and growing market demand, Solavita is committed to helping Italian users achieve smarter and more efficient energy management through its cutting-edge solar-storage solutions.
